In 2017, Gears for Breakfast brought their Adventure/Platformer game A Hat in Time to PC. A cute young lady’s exploits require her help. In A Hat in Time, you take on the role of a young lady who travels through space while wearing a huge top hat. Her journey comes to an end when her energy source, the Time Pieces, are scattered across a nearby planet. Now that Cap Kid has refueled, she is free to continue her adventure across this strange new world by bouncing, fighting, and teaming up with other new capes. She’ll have her hands full dealing with everyone from the terrifying Mafia of Cooks and Dead Bird Studio to the murky depths of Subcon Forest and everywhere in between.

Every mission in A Hat in Time is an exciting new experience. In a split second, you can go from being the band marshal at The Big Parade to sneaking into the bird-run Dead Bird Studio as you investigate the Owl Express Murder. You can hop between 5 vast universes, each with its own set of challenges. Just like any other kid, Hat Kid gets a kick out of going on adventures, and she won’t let a little thing like a mountain stand in the way of a good time. Her acrobatic skills on the rebound are just as impressive as those she uses to scale walls and swing across openings.
As she travels through the world, Hat Kid discovers and collects unusual ethereal yarn, which she uses to make hats with special abilities, such as a witch cap that allows her to cook deadly creations and a wooden apparition veil that allows her to see into different dimensions. It is possible that the visual impact of caps could be improved by linking locally discovered, sold, and exchanged identifications.
