Even though I know that large families can have unusual dynamics, I’m going to take a wild guess and say that neither yours nor mine can match the pedigree of the Finches. Giant Sparrow, the developers behind The Unfinished Swan, also created the experience-based What Remains of. In 2017, Edith Finch’s port to PS4 was plagued by surface stacking issues, leaving me to wonder if a Switch port would actually work. To my pleasant surprise, the port functions admirably and may even be slightly superior to the original game.
Edith, played by you, returns to the Finch family home years after her mother’s supposed death, and finds it changed in ways both good and bad. While exploring the estate, she recalls meeting various members of the Finch family and hearing about their tragic endings. It would appear that the Finches are under a curse that has followed them from Norway to Orcas Island in Washington state, where all but one of their children has perished.
